To understand why we need it, you have to know some background. First of all, applications is not built from scratch, any non trivial apps use lot of libraries. In GNU/Linux, most of them are shared libraries, i.e. .so files. You can use `ldd /usr/bin/mplayer` to check what shared libraries an app has been linked to. Shared libraries have versions. E.g. /usr/lib/libavformat.so.51, here 51 denotes its version. After upgrading, the version number may change. E.g. /usr/lib/libavformat.so.52 Previously in Gentoo Linux, after upgrading, old version of so file will be deleted. As a consequence, all the apps which has previously been linked to the old so file will cease to work. At that time, to solve this problem, you will have to use revdep-rebuild to rebuild all such apps. Before they are rebuilt, you can't use them. I myself have experienced this a lot, especially on mplayer. Sometimes, a soccer match is about to kick off, suddenly I found my mplayer not working because of a missing old so file. Now, it is all over. With preserve-libs, your apps will continue to work, because old so files are preserved. And they will not stay on your hard disk forever. After `emerge @preserved-rebuild` they will all gone and your apps will be linked to the new version of so file. June 11 如果聚会你迟到了，你会对大家有什么反应 我问某：如果聚会你迟到了，你会对大家有什么反应 某说：不好意思不好意思不好意思。。。如果大家正玩着，，光说不好意思就是了，如果大家干等我。。。我就直接撞死在大家面前谢罪。。 引的我哈哈大笑 当然，如果单独被问到这个问题，谁都会给出类似的答案 不过实际生活中，自己真正遇到这种情况能不能说“不好意思”，还得要打个问号 其实这里迟到可以被替换成很多情况 这些情况都有个共同点，就是大家的时间因为个别人而被耽误了 迟到是一件不好的事情 迟到本质上反映出的是一个人的自私，只为自己考虑，自我中心 我也会迟到 所以写出来，大家共勉 June 06 刚刚fix一个qterm的问题是一个和as-needed有关的问题 我用了-Wl,--as-needed几天终于碰到了问题，真是太兴奋了 我这人是有点不太正常……碰到问题还兴奋…… http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=225117 [23:21:22] http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/asneeded.xml [23:21:29] i have enabled as-needed [23:21:37] but qterm failed to compile [23:21:57] the reason is qterm uses openssl, openssl uses libcrypto [23:22:12] but when linking, only openssl is specified on command line [23:22:44] so, if as-needed is speicified, libcrypto will not be pulled in when linking, [23:23:10] fix is easy, just use cmake's findpkgconfig module [23:23:14] qterm uses cmake [23:23:34] the original author reinvented the wheel [23:23:43] he didn't use findpkgconfig June 05 MergedFB and xrandr今天捡了楼上雅虎香港的同事用过的22寸大液晶显示器来用 还是挺爽的 虽然是捡人家淘汰的 人家鸟枪换炮换24的了 看起来好像挺寒酸的，但人贵在善于知足 12楼其他同事还在用19的，只有我们dts的人用上了22，其实还有点不好意思呢 我想达到的目的是把笔记本的显示器和独立显示器连起来用 一个左一个右 搜了一下，发现了个radeon驱动（xf86-video-ati）的MergedFB选项 拷贝了一个配置文件下来，成了 不过有个问题，独立显示器达不到固有分辨率，1680x1050 用ati-drivers肯定是可以的，以前用过 不过不想用闭源驱动，倒不是说非开源不用，实在是因为它麻烦 后来就升级了xf86-video-ati，从6.6.3升级到6.8.0-r1 结果发现没有了MergedFB选项 后来搜索发现原来MergedFB成了现在的xrandr 于是改了xorg.conf，主要是去掉了不必要的MergedFB选项，然后设定一下Virtual，宽为1024+1680，高1050 然后startx，再用xrandr命令设置一下就好了 xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of LVDS --mode 1680x1050 这样有一个问题，左下角有面积为1024x(1050-768)的区域看不到，不过算了，无所谓了 现在我可以在笔记本显示器上放电视，同时在独立显示器上干活，爽就一个字 7年了yymm已经写了一些回忆 和我记得的一样 我就不写了 7年了，好快 在过几个月就是我们认识8年了 到时候要不要再聚？ 哈哈 不知道到时候老不尊会不会来，呵呵 |
